“Alimentaria Chengdu opening Ceremony”

“Keynote address ' Alimentaria supports the Industry Development in Global Market '”

Spirits Masterclass: “Chinese liquor vs Chile Pisco”

Pisco is a distilled spirit produced from fermented grapes and falls within the brandy category. Pisco is the most popular distilled spirit among Chileans, accounting for approximately 50% of the Chilean distilled spirits market. Chilean Pisco has the distinction of being the spirit with the longest history in the Americas and the second in the world to be awarded the name of origin.

The liquor industry in Sichuan Province has a long history, with the four regions of Luzhou, Mianzhu, Yibin and Qionglai being particularly prominent. The ‘Six sisters’ – Wuliangye, Luzhou Laojiao, Jiannanchun, Tuopai Quju, Quanxing Daqu and Langjiu – collectively account for half of the Chinese liquor market.

Vincent Xu and Sa Wang, in collaboration with Prochile and Luzhou Laojiao, will participate in the Spirits Masterclass, which will explore the global landscape of distilled spirits.

Topic II: Food and Beverage Globalization

Chinese companies have been going overseas for a long time. Over the past period, automotive, gaming and cross-border e-commerce have become the most popular directions for going overseas. Well-known food and catering brands, including Luzhou Laojiao and Haidilao, have also stepped out of the country. The latest Alimentaria show report confirms that Alimentaria BCN 2024 attracted a large number of exhibitors from a number of Chinese provinces and cities, with nearly 1,000 square metres of exhibition space. Chinese liquor, tea and beverages, seasonings, dried fruits and all kinds of pre-packaged food products are the mainstay of the overseas market. They are gaining popularity in important food consumption markets such as Europe, the Middle East and South America.

We will bring together global industry experts to discuss and share insights on the opportunities and challenges facing Chinese food and beverage products in overseas markets.
